A Mage, A Cannon, and A Castle
Destroy The Castle is a VR wrecking game where the player is a wizard desperately trying to get some peace and quiet, by any means neccessary. The castle, viewed from the wizard's tower, is boisterous and loud (and didn't even invite the wizard to the celebration).
This project was a group project created in 4 weeks. Each team was tasked to plan, develop, and create a functional game that was immersive, interactable, and fun. Our 4 man team decided we wanted a wicked wizard who shoots cannons and shoots fire in a hock-em sock-em VR game. We were all inspired by Tony Hawk style high scores, and fantical battle royals. Thus Castle Crashers was born.
Meet The Team!
Our group name (still pending) is MANJ. Its an acronym on our names: Micheal, Alex, Nat, Josh (and Tamara). Our group is as diverse as they come, making our differences really shine through in our project.
Gameplay Mechanics
The main objective of the game is to completely destroy the castle. There will be cannons around the environment for the player to use to attack (angry birds style.) There will also be hidden special wands the player can find to do different damage types to finish the game faster. Players will get rewarded with radical pop-ups and damage dealt in the fastest time.
As the night progresses through three acts (based on the hour within the night), the demon evolves from quiet stalker to manipulator of the environment, culminating in an escape‑or‑survive finale. Sound cues, baking efficiency, and exploration all feed the tension in unpredictable ways.
